Having purchased a 1994 Kenwood music system from a Charity shop in 2013 (it was a high end product in its day), I found myself not quite knowing where to plug in what, and how to do this, that and the next thing. I needed a Manual, and after failure with another online 'Manual provider' I found Owner Manuals dot com. Well, I wasn't sure, but it was only $5, and if things didn't work out, I wouldn't have lost much... But things DID work out. After paying my childrens inheritance money, $4.99, I was sent a Manual for my Kenwood System very quickly. Alas, it was in German, and being Scottish, I could not read it or get my system in order from it...a rapid email to them brought the English Manual in short order, and my retro-system was and IS up and running in it's regulation settings. I am very grateful to http://www.owner-manuals.com for their quick service and for even having such an obsolete Manual in the first place! If you need a Manual for ANYTHING, try here first. Thanks so much for the Owner's manual for my Sony PS - FL1. I had purchased the turntable off of eBay. It came in and looked great. Packed well and appeared to be great. I balanced and aligned the tone are and hooked it up. When trying to play a record the tone are would move to the right place and just before it would drop to play it moved back off the edge of the record before touching down. I searched the net for an answer to this issue. No luck. Then I purchased the owners manual and sure enough there was a place to adjust where the stylus touched down. That adjustment solved the problem and saved me a $35 feet to have the player checked out. The manual is well written and easy to understand. It is a must have for anyone with this front loading Sony turntable.

Notes on Headphones

The battery compartment lid is designed to come off when opened with excessive force. To put it back on, see the illustration.

Weakening* When the battery becomes exhausted, the unit will turn off. Replace with new battery. When you press POWER after installing the new battery, the indicator changes to “ ”. * Displayed only when the radio is turned on. Note Do not take more than 3 minutes to replace the battery, otherwise, your clock settings and preset stations will be initialized. Should that happen, reset the functions again. Troubleshooting
Should any problem persist after you have made the following checks, consult your nearest Sony dealer. All buttons do not operate at all. • “-” is displayed. Slide the HOLD switch so that “-” disappears. Very weak or interrupted sound, or unsatisfactory reception • Weak battery. • In a vehicle or in a building, move closer to a window. Display is dim, or no indication is displayed. • Weak battery. • The unit is being used in extremely high or low temperatures or in a place with excessive moisture. The station cannot be received when a PRESET TUNING (1 to 5) button is pressed. • You chose the wrong preset number. • The memory of the station has been initialized. Preset the station again. The power cannot be turned on, and “ ” is flashing in the display. • The battery have been completely exhausted. The preset stations may be initialized, if a maintenance service is performed. Please note down your settings in case you want to preset them again.

Installing the Battery
(See Fig. A– )
1 Open the battery compartment lid and install one size AAA (R03) battery (not supplied) with correct polarity. When battery is first installed, “AM 12:00” flashes in the display. Once the current time is set, the flashing stops. 2 Close the lid.

Precautions
• Operate the unit only on 1.5 V DC with one size AAA (R03) battery. • Avoid exposure to temperature extremes, direct sunlight, moisture, sand, dust or mechanical shock. Never leave the unit in a car parked under the sun. • Should any solid object or liquid fall into the unit, remove the battery and have the unit checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further. • In vehicles or buildings, radio reception may be difficult or noisy. Try listening near a window. • To clean the casing, use a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution.
