Having bought a pre-owned Sony FM stereo tuner through eBay, it came without any manuals. It soon became clear that to get the best from this excellent tuner I needed a decent manual because much of the operation was not intuitive to a newboy to hi fi like me. I managed to download the official Sony multi-lingual manual from Owner-Manuals.com with no problem at all - a really quick and easy service. I'm very glad I did because I found out all the operations of the tuner and was then able to not only set it up quickly but also to get much more from it that poke-and-hope trialling would ever achieve. In my book $4.99 very well spent.

Changing the frontlight level
You can turn the frontlight on the screen off or on or adjust the frontlight level according to the lighting conditions or temperature of the environment where you use your CLI� handheld.
Turning the frontlight off and on
Press and hold down the POWER button for more than two seconds to turn the frontlight off or on.
Adjusting the frontlight level
Even with the frontlight on, you may need to further adjust the brightness on the screen. You can use the onscreen brightness control to adjust the frontlight level.

To change the level in small increments, tap to the left or right. To change the brightness level in larger increments, drag the slider to the left or right.
Tip You can also press the scroll button or rotate the Jog Dial navigator to move the slider incrementally.

Tap Done.
