Having purchased a 1994 Kenwood music system from a Charity shop in 2013 (it was a high end product in its day), I found myself not quite knowing where to plug in what, and how to do this, that and the next thing. I needed a Manual, and after failure with another online 'Manual provider' I found Owner Manuals dot com. Well, I wasn't sure, but it was only $5, and if things didn't work out, I wouldn't have lost much... But things DID work out. After paying my childrens inheritance money, $4.99, I was sent a Manual for my Kenwood System very quickly. Alas, it was in German, and being Scottish, I could not read it or get my system in order from it...a rapid email to them brought the English Manual in short order, and my retro-system was and IS up and running in it's regulation settings. I am very grateful to http://www.owner-manuals.com for their quick service and for even having such an obsolete Manual in the first place! If you need a Manual for ANYTHING, try here first. Tape Deck
The tape does not record. • There is no tape in the cassette holder. • The tab has been removed from the cassette (see “To save a tape permanently” on page 36). • The tape has reeled to the end. The tape does not record nor play or there is a decrease in sound level. • The heads are dirty. Clean them (see “Cleaning the tape heads” on page 37). • The record/playback heads are magnetized. Demagnetize them (see “Demagnetizing the tape heads” on page 37). The tape does not erase completely. • The record/playback heads are magnetized. Demagnetize them (see “Demagnetizing the tape heads” on page 37). There is excessive wow or flutter, or the sound drops out. • The capstans or pinch rollers are dirty. Clean them (see “Cleaning the tape heads” on page 37). Noise increases or the high frequencies are erased. • The record/playback heads are magnetized. Demagnetize them (see “Demagnetizing the tape heads” on page 37). After pressing hH or A, there is a mechanical noise, “EJECT” appears in the display, and the unit enters standby mode automatically. • The cassette tape was not inserted correctly. Eject the tape and turn the power back on.

Tuner
There is severe hum or noise (“TUNED” or “STEREO” flashes in the display). •Adjust the antenna. •The signal strength is too weak. Connect the external antenna. A stereo FM program cannot be received in stereo. •Press STEREO/MONO so that “STEREO” appears.

If other troubles not described above occur, reset the system as follows:
1 Unplug the power cord. 2 Plug the power cord back in. 3 Press ?/1 to turn on the power. 4 Press x, DISC 1 and PLAY MODE at the same time. The system is reset to the factory settings. All the settings you made, such as the preset stations, clock, and timer are cleared. You should set them again.
