This manual covers the main equipment features only. While it also includes the procedure for saving and loading from the now long obsolete memory cards it does not mention the how to operate with the optional floppy drive interface so I am still at a loss about how to use this! Note that there is a separate manual covering the MIDI interface and programming via the keyboard, not included in this download. You will also need to get hold of this if you want to use the MIDI interface properly. Basically there is little difference between this manual and the free to download manual for the similar PR60 model.

You can repeat part of a CD (LOOP) and can "flash" the CD sound (FLASH) during playback.

Press CD. Press PLAY MODE•MONO/ST until “SHUF” appears in the display. Press u to start shuffle play.

Press RADIO BAND•AUTO PRESET until the band you want appears in the display (direct power-on). Each time you press the button, the indication changes as follows: CFD-S22/S32: “FM1” n “FM2” n “AM” CFD-S22L/S32L/922L: “FM1” n “FM2” n “MW” n “LW”.

Presetting radio stations
You can store radio stations into the player’s memory. You can preset up to 30 radio stations (CFD-S22/S32) or 40 radio stations (CFD-S22L/S32L/ 922L), 10 for each band in any order.

To repeat a selected part of a CD "flash" the CD sound Press and Hold LOOP on the remote FLASH on the remote

Checking the remaining time

To cancel Shuffle Play
Press PLAY MODE•MONO/ST until “SHUF” disappears from the display.


Number buttons MODE* BAND TUNE +, – X N LOOP FLASH TUNING –, + ., > x u * MODE on the remote has the same function as PLAY MODE•MONO/ST on the player. VOL +,– x ., > MEGA BASS TONE

Press Z PUSH OPEN/CLOSE down to open the CD compartment and place a CD in the CD compartment.

To display the current track number and the remaining time on the current track* the number of tracks left and remaining time on the CD


Programme Play
To cancel the LOOP or FLASH function
Release the button. The player returns to normal play.

Hold down RADIO BAND•AUTO PRESET for 2 seconds until "AUTO" flashes in the display.


With the labeled side up

Press CD. Press PLAY MODE•MONO/ST until “PGM” appears in the display. Press the number buttons for the tracks you want to programme in the order you want. You can arrange the playing order of up to 20 tracks.


Hold down TUNING + or – (TUNE + or – on the remote, CFD-S32/S32L only) until the frequency digits begin to change in the display.

Notes on CDs
• Before playing, clean the CD with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the CD from the center out.

Locating a specific track
To locate Press a number button of the track. > (forward) or . (backward) while playing until you find the point. > (forward) or . (backward) in pause until you find the point. a specific track directly a point while listening to the sound


Press DISPLAY ENT•MEMORY. The stations are stored in memory from the lower frequencies to the higher ones.

Programmed track Playing order • Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners or anti-static spray intended for vinyl LPs.

The player automatically scans the radio frequencies and
• Do not expose the CD to direct sunlight or heat sources such as hot air ducts, nor leave it in a car parked in direct sunlight as there can be a considerable rise in temperature inside the car. • Do not stick paper or sticker on the CD, nor scratch the surface of the CD. • After playing, store the CD in its case. Tip If you automatically preset the "FM1" or "FM2" band, 10 radio stations are stored in "FM1" band and 10 more radio stations are stored in "FM2" band.

Press u (N on the remote, CFD-S32/S32L only). The player plays all the tracks once.

You cannot locate a specific track if "SHUF" or "PGM" is lit in the display. Turn off the indication by pressing x.

To check the order of tracks before play
Press DISPLAY ENT•MEMORY. Every time you press the button, the track number appears in the programed order.

To improve broadcast reception
Reorient the antenna for FM. Reorient the player itself for AM or MW/LW.

To change the current programme

Press x once if the CD is stopped and twice if the CD is playing. The current program will be erased. Then create a new programme following the programming procedure. Tips • You can play the same program again, since the program is saved until you open the CD compartment. • You can record your own program. After you’ve created the programme, insert a blank tape and press z to start recording.

AM/MW/LW The new station replaces the old one.

• The "FM1" and "FM2" bands have the same functions. You can store the stations you want separately in "FM1" and "FM2". • If the FM broadcast is noisy, press PLAY MODE•MONO/ST until "Mono" appears in the display and the radio will play in monaural.
